Sami, Constituency Director
Born and raised in Windsor, Sami brings years of experience working with MPPs, Ministers, and MPs to his role as Constituency Director. When not working, he spends his time with family, enjoying the outdoors! Sami looks forward to working with his team to ensure Windsor-Tecumseh is served!
Manvir, Legislative Assistant
Manvir was born in Windsor and raised in Forest Glade, a neighbourhood his family has called home for over 40 years. He completed two degrees at the University of Windsor – honours in both Biochemistry and Secondary Education. Upon graduation, Manvir began working at the local United Way/Centraide. As the Coordinator for WE-STEAM, he helped develop innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) programming for in-risk youth in priority neighbourhoods across Windsor-Essex.
Now, in his role as Legislative Assistant, Manvir is excited to work on policies that will help make Windsor-Tecumseh a more prosperous and resilient community.
Alexandra, Constituency Assistant
Alexandra is a trained social worker and completed both a bachelor’s degree in Social Work & Disability Studies and a Master of Social Work here at the University of Windsor. She is passionate about helping others and has a background in developmental services. She love all things related to learning and trying new things. When she is not working you can find her reading or enjoying a good Neftlix binge! Alexandra looks forward to being able to assist you with all your constituency needs.
Svetlana, Constituency Assistant
Svetlana and her family have lived in the Windsor-Tecumseh riding for 16 years after immigrating to Canada from Germany. Born and raised in Russia, Svetlana earned her law degree at the University in Izhevsk and her PhD from the Institute of State and Law in Moscow. While working at the Business School of the University in Izhevsk, Svetlana received a scholarship from the Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation in Germany and earned her second PhD at the Institute of Labour Law of the University of Goettingen (Germany). In 2002, Svetlana worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Intellectual Property in Munich (Germany), specializing in copyright law of Eastern European countries.
After Svetlana and her family moved to Canada in 2004, she completed the accelerated Paralegal Program at St. Clair College and following the Licensing Exam, she opened her office providing legal services to the community. Prior to joining the Constituency Office, Svetlana worked as Board Secretary for the Windsor Police Services Board.
Svetlana is dedicated to volunteering and community involvement and has served as one of Windsor Chapter Leaders of PCMH (Parents for Children’s Mental Health) which provides support, education, advocating and empowerment to families with children, youth and young adults with mental health challenges. Svetlana is married to Victor Sevillano who is an Associate Professor at the University of Windsor, and has two teenaged sons.
Yazdan, Constituency Aide
Yazdan is a first-year Psychology with Thesis student at the University of Windsor. He is a social justice and community activist who volunteers with non-profit organizations to promote equality, community wellbeing, and mental health.
Teanna is an events and communications professional with a tremendous passion and a wealth of experience for building community and bringing people together. After graduating from the University of Windsor with an honours degree in both Political Science & Labour Studies, she began her career working at MPP's and Minister's Offices at Queens Park and received an Event Management Certificate from Ryerson University.
Teanna earned the The Best Festival in Canada award in 2014 and 2018, by Canadian Special Events and the 2015 Innovator of the Year award by Tourism Industry Association of Ontario for creation of the Walkerville Night Market and the Tasting Trolley Food Tour. She has coordinated events and conferences for the Ontario Liberal Party and the Liberal Party of Canada and was a member of the Leaders Tour team during the 2015 National Election.
Teanna lives in Riverside with her husband Taylor, her twins and their dog Nova. She is excited to be a part of Team Irek and looks forward to utilizing her skills and experiences to assist the residents of Windsor-Tecumseh!
