That's Tourism Windsor Essex CEO Gordon Orr speaking about the new Tourism Relief Fund launched this week by Minister Mélanie Joly that will invest $500 million to support tourism businesses and organizations.

 

Since the pandemic started, our government has provided $15.4 billion in direct supports to the tourism, arts & culture sector - a vitally important sector that boosts jobs and quality of life in communities and neighbourhoods across Windsor-Tecumseh.

 

In addition - Minister Joly announced an additional $700 million Jobs and Growth Fund that will support businesses across sectors - including manufacturing - and the organizations that support them.

 

The total announcement of $1.2 billion will help businesses reach our goal of 1 million new jobs in Canada.
