Today and tonight were filled with so many moments of warmth to remember always.
Our little Pop Up Vaccine Clinic at the Constituency Office brought out so many Moms & Dads with little ones who were so brave, folks who drove in from the County and didn't mind the cold, a few first timers and people getting vaccinated despite their own doubts & questions because they so badly want to visit friends they love who are immunocompromised and visit loved ones turning 93. We had international students and those here on work permits so grateful for the vaccine and "the chance". We had folks who couldn't make their previous appointments because of transportation challenges and this little one here met them halfway. We had people tear up. Lots of fist bumps. Smiles through N95s. We had the remarkable Dr. Magbule Doko and her team of superheroes - medical students and nurses whose passion for their craft and our community never dwindled one bit through frozen feet and fingers - excited at each new guest. We are so lucky to have them in our City.
A vaccine clinic is so full of stories and moments like these that reveal the best of us and what makes us Canadian.
Moments - like seeing my wife Shauna coming straight from a shift at the hospital to help give a few jabs - including a booster for a surprise couple that showed up at the last whistle: my Mom & Dad.
And lastly, seeing my Team come together on a really cold January night. Thank you Yazdan Nikoo, Noah Gascon, David Ennis, Nathan France, Connor Logan & Sami Mazloum. You guys are a true dream team.
