Taking Action to Support Ukraine

Yesterday, Canada announced that we will send an additional $25 million of protective equipment, including helmets, body armour, gas masks and night vision gear, to Ukraine. This builds on millions of dollars of lethal aid already delivered earlier this month.
We also closed Canada’s airspace to all Russian aircraft operators and helped lead the efforts to remove Russia from the SWIFT global payment system.
Putin’s war on Ukraine is a war on freedom, on democracy, and on the rights of Ukrainians, and all people, to determine their own future. We will continue to impose severe coordinated economic sanctions and pressure alongside our allies as we call on Russia to reverse course and withdraw its forces. Canada stands united with Ukraine.
