Minister Hussen Visits Windsor-Tecumseh
April 13, 2022
It was the highest honour for Minister Ahmed Hussen and I to join Ahmad and Mursal for Iftar at Hamoudi's Shawarma. This brave Afghan family fleeing conflict in their homeland has arrived in our beautiful community, and we are stronger for that.
We also met with University of Windsor executives to talk about how our federal government is contributing to diversity on campuses across Canada.
We visited Gurdwara Khalsa Prakash to meet volunteers who are preparing Langar for Vaisakhi celebrations.
We had great conversations around cross-border truck drivers, international students, and housing.
We had a powerful discussion with the Black Kids in Action Performing Art Group and the African Community Organization of Windsor.
Finally, Minister Hussen and I joined the Muslim community tonight at the Windsor Islamic Association. We were pleased to talk about our government's plan to fight Islamophobia across communities in Canada, including Windsor-Essex.
