Every worker has the right to a healthy and safe workplace, and to return home safely at the end of their workday. On the National Day of Mourning, we pay tribute to all workers who have lost their lives, been injured or fallen ill at work.
As we pause to reflect, it is important to remember that April 28 is also a day of action. That is why the Government of Canada is renewing and strengthening its commitment to improve health and safety in the workplace and prevent further injuries, illnesses, and deaths.
To honour the memory of the workers we have lost, let’s continue our efforts to create workplaces where all workers can do their best work knowing they are physically and mentally safe.
