Pleased this morning to announce on behalf of Minister François-Philippe Champagne $36 million in federal funding through Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen) to support 15 projects and 35 companies leading Canada's EV innovation ecosystem - including companies in Windsor-Essex that puts them at the centre of Advanced Manufacturing Supercluster.
This announcement means more jobs locally and more prosperity for Windsor-Essex, and builds upon the $5 billion Stellantis-LG EV battery plant our federal government announced just a few short weeks ago that will create 3,200 new direct auto jobs in our community.
These partnerships are transforming Windsor-Tecumseh, and building prosperity for workers, families, residents and businesses.
There is more to come and more positive news to deliver. Stay tuned!
