Queen's Platinum Jubilee Pin Community Awards
October 29, 2022
Honoured to present Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Pin Awards to our second group of nominees who clearly established their commitment to serving our community.
Grelida Nurja was there for Windsor—Tecumseh when we needed her most. As the Manager of Heron Terrace LTC Home, she worked directly on the front lines with residents at the height of the pandemic. Grelida would also visit residents at the
St. Clair College field hospital.
Michelina Busico is also a healthcare hero. Since September 2020, she has volunteered as a receptionist every Sunday at The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County - stepping up for families during the most difficult times. Michelina also arranged calls for the Hospice Compassionate Care Program.
Philip Alexander is an Associate Professor Emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Windsor. He has dedicated significant volunteer efforts to developing initiatives for the Amhertburg Freedom Museum - shedding a light on the rich history of African Canadians.
Congratulations to our second group of nominees. We look forward to presenting more awards soon.
We invite you to nominate a resident of Windsor—Tecumseh that has gone above and beyond, neighbour looking after neighbour.
