HM Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Pin Awards
November 12, 2022
Our next class of HM Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Pin Award recipients demonstrate service above self and the highest commitment to community.
This week I had the honour of recognizing their incredible work and leadership.
John Fairley has been a tireless advocate for our nurses while recognizing their service through an annual awards program. John also leads the annual “Face to Face” campaign which has raised over $1.5M for The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. Our community is undoubtedly better off because of John.
Coach James Kennedy - JK - has been an ambassador for youth sport in our community for decades, serving as a dedicated basketball coach of 30+ years - leading many teams including the Riverside Falcons Basketball. His leadership sets an incredible example for the young people he coaches.
Christine Paris leads the Serenity Song Community Association - a new nonprofit organization helping make Windsor—Tecumseh a better place to live. The group has organized food drives, wellness fairs along with community gardens and art projects - making our region more vibrant and more connected.
Wiquar Husain saved lives and protected our community during the pandemic by organizing ten vaccine pop-up clinics alongside Dr. Magbule Doko - including the one held in our office this year. These clinics administered over 3.8K doses of life saving vaccine!
Congratulations to our nominees! We are truly fortunate to have these leaders working to build our community. I encourage you to nominate someone who has made an impact on our community or demonstrated service above self by using our nomination form
